OBJECTIVES

TRS is the first national, occupational and scientific non-profit specialty society of Chest Diseases Specialists. Main objective of society is to "protect lung health of Turkish society by supporting societal and occupational education and researches”. By being the first scientific occupational society about chest diseases in Turkey, Turkish Respiratory Society continues its institutionalism efforts. Our executive board aims to be more open to change and novelty by making constitutional and administrative changes and also to give more importance to “Public Health" which is specified in target description of Turkish Respiratory Society between 2004 and 2006.

Work objectives of our society are listed as:

• Develop knowledge about structure, function and diseases of Respiratory System, make investigations, make others do research and publish those with any kind of media organs.
• Make medico-social studies about these areas,
• Organize scientific meeting for medical professionals and educational meetings for public,
• Build foundations and organizations to realize these studies,
• Make cooperation with other international scientific institutes which make research in same or similar areas
