INFORMATION TO AUTHORS

  1. Solunum journal is the periodical of Turkish Respiratory Society (TRS) and published as 3 volumes a year. Language of the journal is Turkish. Research papers about respiratory system and diseases, case reports, reviews, letters to editor and translations are published in Respiratory  journal. Papers are accepted electronically.

  2. Editorial Board has the authority not to publish, send back for a revision or adjust the format of the papers which do not comply with publication rules. Submitted papers are evaluated by “peer review” system electronically. Every manuscript is reviewed by two supervisor having expertise on their area. In case there is a conflict between supervisor opinions, paper is sent to a third reviewer and his/her decision will be final decision or Editorial Board will choose one of the opinions.

  3. No copyright payments are made for articles. Scientific and legal responsibilities of the articles belong to the authors. If there is an ethics committee decision, name of the ethics committee, decision date and number should be provided. Name of the granting corporation, institute or foundation should be referred.

  4. Publication Right Transfer Form ” to be filled during online submission should be sent to +90 (212) 529 58 68 by fax.

  5. Manuscript submission: Manuscripts should be prepared as Word documents (doc) and submitted via Journal Agent Online system . Guideline for Online Article Submission is provided at the back of the journal. All of the authors who will be contacted will have a password and user name following registration. After logging in to the article submission system using this password and user name, reading the guideline for system and saving all information will help you avoid unnecessary delays. All of the figures, tables and necessary supplementary materials should be sent to the same address.

  6. Writing format
    Abstract and key words:
    Abstract in English and Turkish should not exceed 250 words including the title. For research articles, abstract should consist of Objective, Materials and Methods, Findings and Results. Key words should be at least 3, at most 6 and they should comply with Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) standards (web site presented below).

    Main text pages: For research articles, Introduction and Objective, Materials and Methods, Findings and Discussion parts should be included and case reports should include Introduction, Case Presentation, and Discussion parts. In review articles, subtitles should be added to ease the comprehension. Generic names are recommended to be used in pharmaceutical products. Abbreviations must be written in parenthesis at the first instance, whether on abstract or main text and same abbreviation should be used in text. Length of text should not exceed 10 pages for reviews, 3 pages for case reports and 2 pages for letters to editor. Acknowledgement part should be added at the end of the manuscript.

    References: References should be sequenced according to presentation order in text and should be given in parenthesis where information is provided. Journal names should be abbreviated according to Index Medicus. Full names of journals which are not registered in Index Medicus should be given. In case of multiple references more than two, first and last reference number should be given by putting a '-' sign in between. Names of all authors should be written in references. If there are 7 and more authors, first 6 author’s name should be written and followed with “et al.” suffix. Number of references should not exceed the number of 50 for research and review articles, 10 for case reports and 5 for letters to editor.

    Tables, figures and pictures: Tables, figures and pictures should be sent as a separate file. Tables should be specified with Roman letters. Files should not exceed 600 KB.
